CALMS is working with the Iglesia Evangélica Luterana de Panama (IELPA), our partner in Panama, to begin new work in nearby Costa Rica. The main goal of CALMS' involvement in Costa Rica is to help plant healthy churches and develop effective leaders who can serve their congregations with greater capacity! A second goal is to help IELPA develop a mission vision so that they can see themselves as missionaries outside their own country. Later this year, CALMS will be sending a small team of Spanish speaking North Americans to work with a small team from Panama to do research and service projects in Costa Rica in order to learn more and develop relationships-the first steps in starting new work in a new place!
