Peg Wolfram is CALMS' logistics coordinator for Belize. She has served previously as a missionary in Vietnam, Cambodia and Alaska. She helps facilitate short-term teams in Belize and is the organization's link with strategic partners. She also helps with various missionary services such as training of Sunday school teachers and youth workers to assist our Belizean partners.
Milton Castillo is CALMS' short-term Coordinator for Panama. Milton lives in Panama City and is an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in the Los Andes area of the city. He helps design projects to meet the needs of Panama Lutheran congregations and those they are seeking to serve. He also provides logistical support for short-term teams and other individual volunteers.
Lic. Ramiro Peñate is CALMS' housing coordinator for Guatemala and as such provides leadership for our growing housing ministry in that country. He works with Guatemalan congregations to select those who will receive a new house, oversees the construction process, trains Guatemalan and American volunteers to work together on the house construction projects, provides logistical support to volunteers and follows up on those who have received new homes. Ramiro is an active member of his Lutheran congregation in Zacapa, Guatemala and has worked for many years as a social worker, development officer and in construction. Like other members of the CALMS team, he is ideally suited for his special role!
Dr. Elry Orozco is a special partner with CALMS in Guatemala. He is the founder and director of Holy Cross Clinic in Amatitlan, Guatemala. Dr. Elry and CALMS work very closely to serve the large population of very needy people living near the clinic. CALMS recruits and trains North American short-term medical teams to complement Dr. Orozco's on-going medical ministry. His brother, Abdiel, who is a Lutheran pastor, and other members of Castillo Fuerte Lutheran Church in Guatemala City are also partners in the ministry and help with Christian education and outreach.
