About CALMS

Our Mission Team : Staff & Missionaries in the USA

Rev. Miguel Torneire is CALMS' Missionary-at-large and is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Miguel lives in St. Charles, Missouri with his wife Diane. Until August 2008, he served as a missionary pastor at The Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Zacapa, Guatemala for four years where he worked closely with CALMS. He serves full time with CALMS to guide our missionary activities, develop relationships with Central American leaders and help facilitate strategic projects in Central America.

Dawn Timm is a former missionary to Russian and Jewish people. She is also a wife of a pastor and mother of two children. Dawn serves from the United States as CALMS' logistics coordinator. She helps facilitate short-term teams for CALMS and currently lives in Denver, Colorado where her husband Gary is serving as a missionary-pastor.

Tom Brickler is CALMS' business manager and helps the organization with accounting and other vital services. Tom has strong mission interests and has served as business manager in two Lutheran congregations in the St. Louis area. He also has an adopted son from Central America.

David Little has been a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (Houston, TX) for about 15 years. He has also been involved with CALMS since its inception, helping to organize it as a 501C3 organization and providing valuable legal advice throughout the past four years of growth. David writes: "God has blessed me and my family graciously, and being involved with CALMS is my way of giving something back to God. I feel that handling the legal and tax matters for CALMS allows other members to focus on the real purpose - growing the Lutheran Church in Central and Latin America."
