Teaching Kuna Indian women about different vegetables and how to cook them, how to bake cakes and cookies and how to market their traditional art (Molas) as purses, wallets, eyeglass cases, etc.

Desired Results

As a result of this project, women members of God is Great L.C. in Loma Cova will be able to cook more healthy meals for their families, make baked items to sell for fund-raisers for their congregation and have more disposable income from selling their art items. The women will also be able to price their itemsfor sale and have a plan for how to sell their art items.

Skills Needed

Knowledge of home economics including cooking, baking, sewing; knowledge of marketing; and, ability to build relationships with people of other cultures. At least one person who speaks Spanish well is needed. This project can involve four to six people.
